Building Description

Affordable Urban Living

Description : Beautifully remodeled two-story condominiums in the heart of the Alberta Arts district. The ultimate urban dwelling. From the Doug Fir doors to the slab granite counters and Bamboo hardwoods, these units were designed with attention to detail. Enjoy last Thursday Art Walks from your front porch or second story balcony. Steps to the gym, video store, coffee shops or any one of the many fine restaurants along Alberta street. These 2 bedroom 1.5 bath units offer private back yards for entertaining, assigned off-street parking, and outdoor storage units.

The Alberta neighborhood in Portland can probably best be described as funky and fun... Many homes express a unique and artistic flair that suits the neighborhood's nickname, The Alberta Arts District. Alberta folks seem to prize their individuality, and you'll find a multi-cultural demographics mix of locals and visitors.

Alberta Street, the main drag through the neighborhood, has many newly renovated retail storefronts and restaurant space. These are mixed in with older businesses that have been there forever, and there is a contrast in the fresh paint and stylish logos next to boarded up windows (although there are far fewer of those every week, it seems). The shopping area can now only be considered "trendy" (even if locals would turn up their noses at being stereotyped with any mainstream description). The unique little shops lining Alberta Street highlight handmade local designer clothing, paper mache' lamps, imported gifts from afar, and the Alberta art galleries showcase some fine local work. Smattered throughout are the requisite Portland coffee houses, seemingly one for each subculture--there are no rules in Portland about having too many coffee shops on one street, and Alberta is no exception. You won't find a Starbucks on Alberta, though, as it just wouldn't seem to fit into the quirky individuality of the place. (portlandneighborhood.com)

Northeast Alberta Street

A vibrant enclave known for hosting the Last Thursday Art Walk, Northeast Alberta Street between 12th and 31st streets is an emerging multicultural hotspot. One of Portland’s oldest neighborhoods, it has evolved to where it once again is a thriving community. The diversity of cultures seen here in the early 1900s continues with the recent influx of Asian and Latino businesses, African American galleries, and grassroots arts studios. The Last Thursday Art Walk features art in galleries, studios, restaurants and cafes on the last Thursday of each month. (travelportland.com)
